Cast of Characters:
BO TREADWELL: A washed-up actor whose biggest break was an insurance
commercial. When he returns to his small hometown in Tennessee, his behavior spirals down from immature to downright reckless. He is both charming and rude, a borderline alcoholic with a bruised ego.
ELLIOTT: A sweet, nerdy middle-schooler with a big heart and a good head on his shoulders. He’s not athletic at all but is smart enough to understand that football is a means to an end (popularity) in his Southern small town. He’s not intimidated by Bo...for the most part. He may be soft but he’s not a total pushover.
LAURA: Elliott’s single mom, a former “alternative” girl turned suburbanite. She went to high school with Bo, still lives in their small town and doing the best she can. Laura is a strong woman, doesn’t back away from a fight. She wants to be a good mom and provide Elliott with stable role models.
BROCK: Laura’s boyfriend, he is a carbon copy of every asshole from every John Hughes movie. Laura cares about Brock and sees him as a good choice for her, he’s successful. Unfortunately he could care less about her son and generally chooses to ignore anything that doesn’t fall into the categories of luxury vehicles, crossfit, and his own general awesomeness.
TALIA: A wannabe singer/songwriter/fashion designer/”influencer” in Los Angeles. She’s gorgeous, a free spirit who has talent but lacks drive and follow-through. The type of girl who calls herself as “boho chic,” whatever that means.
